This nice competition has
finished too. Thank you very much Yilmaz for this great puzzles. That the next competiton will not be held in the near future is pitty. But, on the other hand, I will miss your nice puzzles and I'm looking forward to seeing so excellent competitions! I congratulate Zdenek Vodicka. He is number one again. Good luck to all. Happy New Year!!! Helen from UK. |

English : After negotiating with the Editors, it is decided to cancel the top 3 solver bonus points to minimize the effects of the current problematic situation. Happy Christmas. Türkçe : Editörlerle yapilan görüsme sonucunda, su anda yasanan problemli durumun etkilerini en aza indirmek amaciyla bu haftaki "ilk 3 bonusu"nun iptal edilmesine karar verilmistir. Well, I never received (and still
have not received) any email, and when I logged on, the key had changed
and the bonus points had already gone. So I think a fairer solution would
have been to award equal points to all solvers. But it doesn't matter. My interest in this competition is at an end (I doubt I'll be able to log on on Christmas Day anyway). My congratulations to allsolvers, and thanks especially to Yilmaz for some good puzzles. Tim |

Thanks Mr.Vodicka and
Mrs.Roberts. And sorry again Mr.Roberts. Yes, you are right, but, I tried to minimize this bad situation, by announcing with 3 ways: by e-mail, by message (TurkZeka Message) and Comments Part. I hope we will not encounter like this event. Sorry again. Yilmaz Ekici |
Comment # : 28 - 9. Week |
Last week I sent congratulations,
but this week a complaint. I log on today and find the key has changed and
all of the bonus points are gone. This is reasonable? Tim |

I agree with Zdenek. This puzzle was quite hard but also very nice. Thank you once again Yilmaz. Your puzzles are so bewitching. Marry Christmas to all. Helen from UK. |

Thank You, Mr. Ekici, I am very
satisfied. The finding process was very hard, very long - and upshot -
very nice! Great, great, great puzzle, because consideration leading to
right solution was closely logical and surprising. Thank You and Merry Xmas to all. Zdenek Vodicka |

Turkce : Soruyu hazirlarken son olarak anahtar uzerinde yapilan degisikligin serverdaki dosyalar üzerine uygulanmasinin unutulmasindan dolayi yasanan bu olumsuzluk icin ozur dilerim. Anahtar duzeltilmis ve bonus puan tekrar 30 puandan baslatilmistir. Herkese Basarilar. ---------------------------- English : I apologize for this negatory situation exposed because of that the modification made on the key was forgotten applying on the files at servers. The key was corrected and the bonus point was assigned as 30 again. Good luck to all. Yilmaz Ekici (ADMIN) |

Yes, TurkZeka Puzzle Competitons
will be held in 2006 too. But, the format of the competition will be changed. Right now, I don't know when the first competition will begin. But, it is a fact that it will not be started in early 2006 since I have to get prepared to an examination related to my job. (I will really be too busy.) For this reason, there might be only 3 competitions in 2006. I have told about changing the format above. Here is the reason for this : Some competitors (rather twisters) sign up with different user information more than once. Then they submit multitudinous answers until they get the correct answer. For Instance, Someone has entered 10-15 answers consecutively this week : 12, 13, 14, 15, 16,... Maybe you are aware that I removed these answers today and yesterday. Their IP numbers were forbidden by me and also I inactivated all accounts belong to those IP numbers. For this bad situation, I decided that I should change the format of the competition. I am going to announce this format later. If you have any suggestions about the format, I will be happy. Thanks all. Yukarida yarisma formatinin degiseceginden bahsettim. Iste bunun sebebi : Bazi yarismacilar (daha dogrusu üçkagitçilar) farkli bilgilerle birden fazla sayida üyelik kaydi yapiyorlar ve dogru cevabi bulana dek pes pese cevap giriyorlar. Mesela bu hafta biri 10-15 cevap girmisti. Cevaplar birbirini takip ediyordu: 12, 13, 14, 15, 16,... Yilmaz Ekici(ADMIN) |

Finally! I wonder if there's a
better and quicker way to find the answer than I did... I agree, thank you for all these great puzzles. I hope the Turkzeka Competitions will also be in 2006? :-) Greetings, Christoph |

This puzzle was quite hard with
regard to suitable to overlook some of the combinations. I am agree with Tim. Thank you Yilmaz, for your nice declaration and your amazing effort. Good Luck to all. Helen Roberts from UK. |

Thank you very much Tim. I admire your (you and other competitors) interests and efforts too. Your efforts are more than mine: Many competitors have to wake up so early for catching the bonus points on account of their time-zone. I see many competitors who trying to solve non-stop and without sleep until solve my puzzle on the contrary to sofa spud peoples. Such being the case, I feel that I should expend more effort to create more quality puzzles for you due to my respects to your interests and efforts. Thanks all. Yilmaz Ekici (ADMIN) |

Thank you Yilmaz! I am constantly
amazed and very admiring of the time and effort you put in to these
puzzles. Thank you again for providing much pleasure to many people,
myself included. |

Comparing this one with the
Puzzle 4 in last round (Country placement) I'd like to say that I prefer
the point-system of this puzzle. Because there is a upper limit of 100
points and you can't lose more points than with a usual incorrect answer
:-) Thank you for this one... I look forward to see the highest scores next saturday. Christoph |

En yüksek skoru bulan ilk üç
kisiye yine bonuslari verilebilirdi.. Not: Buraya Türkçe yazmanin cezasi neyse öderim.. |

hello, It is an interesting question. Everyone can find a solution but what is the important is to find maximum point. I believe that a lot of competitiors will be successful. I have already sent my answer:) Good luck to all! Ozturk YILDIRIM Industrial Engineer |
Comment # : 15 - 4. Week |
Hard puzzle. The rate of correct answer is very low. The competitiors solving this puzzle will get considerable advantage. Good Luck. Ayfer Aksin (Turkey) |

It is very difficult to be sure
whether or not you get minimum answer. Don't enter the answer before you are sure that your answer is minimum. Thanks Mr.Ekici for this good puzzle as usual. Good luck to all. Helen from UK. |
Comment # : 13 - 3. Week |
This one was easy when compared
with the previous one. Good luck to all. Hoshiko Tori from Japan. |
Comment # : 12 - 2. Week |
Anyhow... my answer seems to be
incorrect :-( But I'm sure to have solved the first part of the puzzle
correctly... I must have made a mistake looking for the second part. Be
carefull - and good luck! Christoph |

I thank Site Owner and
Editors! In Score Analysis sheet of this week, my rank (and Date?) seems to be incorrect. My Bonus point seems to be correct. I believe I am 3rd solver, not 2nd. Good luck to all! Site Owner's Note: Thanks Mr.Enta for your information. Daylight saving time was over at 2 am. But, the server time changed at 3 am. For this reason, your date seems to be incorrect. But, this situation doesn't affect the delivering the first 3 bonus points. Because, the first 3 bonus points are delivered according to number of the correct answers : If your answer is correct and there is no correct answer yet, your bonus point is assigned as "30", if there is one correct answer at that time, your bonus point is assigned as "20", ... Accordingly, I will not make any changes on the scoreboard. Thank you. Good luck to all! Yilmaz Ekici (Admin) |

Why do people get scared while
sending their answers? Since to start with a zero is only a little bit
worse than crashed by a train...

hello to all
competitors! this puzzle was so easy in fact. Difficult thing was to enter the answer. Because all optimization questions are risky. Anyway, I am very pleased to solve this. I could not compete on TURKZEKA- 2005/3 because of not being enough time. I am planning to continue this contest. Ozturk YILDIRIM |

Good but hard puzzle for
beginning of the competition. Most of people may chicken out answering. The optimization puzzles are risky always. Congratulations to who chancing a high risk or rest assured that their answer is minimum. Good luck to all participants. Lene. |
Comment # : 4 - 1. Week |
I agree to all three
statements... This one is really worth it to wait until one is sure to have the correct minimum instead of hunting the bonus-points... Good luck for the last round to everybody and greetings from switzerland, Christoph |

Hi, Very nice and amazing one. Thanks Mr. Ekici. I am agree, this one was so risky. In my first try the number of the squares was not so small. But in my consecutive tries this number got lower and lower. After my last try I thought that it can't be less than the value I found. But it was still risky. I am happy because it was right. Congratulations to quick solvers. Good luck to all puzzlers, Zafer Huseyin Ergan |

Good Puzzle. A little scary not knowing if you are absolutely correct before you put the answer in. Good job to those that got it so quickly. Tough luck for those that went for the bonus and got it wrong. Mike |
Comment # : 1 - 1. Week |
This puzzle is risky. I will not hurry until being sure that my answer is minimum. In any case, the first 3 bonus points have gone. I Congratulate first 3 competitor. They are so fast. Good luck to all. Helen Roberts from UK. |
