Serhat Bey, Evet, ilk 10'a giren Türk yarışmacılara kitaplarımdan biri hediye olarak gönderilecek.

Hi everybody! Great contest again. Thank you Yilmaz and Erol. I have submited my answers for the first 6 puzzles. But, I haven't enough time for the optimizations :( I look forward to see the results. Good luck to all. Helen from England. |

@renatoab, Yes, like those numbers. Good luck... |

"This means that all numbers in all the rows and columns must be changed." What do you mean by numbers in a row or a column? Like numbers 498575 and 485369? |

Hello, good puzzles, indeed. I have a question: In the figure of the first puzzle the colours of balls are accurate or randomly ? I mean, the second figure depicts the situation that in the text is given like impossible. So, i.e. , all the blue balls have the same weight ? Because in that situation the second figure is in contradiction with the text.

Hello, Thanks for another round of Turkzeka competition. However, there are few things I don't like much with the new format: a) Puzzles (except Sudoku and Colour Operation) have clear instruction and we can solve them immediately. What I liked in the previous editions of Turkzeka competition the most was the fact, that we have to figure out ourselves what to do, then solve and then find answer for submission. b) Time effect - Now we have a lot of time to solve pictorial puzzles. It was allways very thrilling to solve puzzles in time limit to get bonus points and fight with other competitors for the fastest time. This is now impossible with new rules.(Also pictorial puzzles will have minimal effect to final results - all will be decided by optimizers) So these are 2 things which make this competition less interesting then how it was before. Thanks Erol for the puzzles, I will be solve it with fun, but I wish and hope you will return to old succesful format. |

1. About Puzzle #8 KakKuro Optimization: How many "mistakes" are there in the following situations? (A) Two gray cells in the same row have 12 and 21; (B) Three gray cells in the same row have 12, 13, and 14; (C) Three gray cells in the same row have 11, 12, and 13. 2. About the threshold of Puzzle #8: Is '100 billion' means 10^11? (i.e. in short scale, since in long scale it would be 10^14) 3. About both optimization puzzles: Do we need to round the result to integer in the score calculation if the division gives non-integer result? |

Thank you Yilmaz for another round of Turkzeka Competition. Good luck and a lot of fun to everyone! Christoph |

Stefano, Here are the answers to your questions: 1) Correct. 2) Getting same score at the optimization puzzles is very low probability. So, same scores will show the corperations. Competitors are expected to solve the problem on their own. Good luck. |

Yilmaz I have two questions 1) I understand this year there will be no bonus for the early submission of the solution of the puzzles (both optimization and pictorials)-correct? 2) To what extent is cooperation between players allowed? |
